So im sure millions of sites are doing this. I think it’s an effort to get higher on search engines. You know, advertise something you don’t really have ( but that is very popular) so that you rank higher on the search engines. Wow, what a great idea…pretty dirty though. I know….its been done over and over and over before. Probably the reason that the meta keywords tag doesn’t matter anymore. People abused it.
So I just thought I’d say something about it, that way I get to use the phrase “free iPod” on my site to raise me up in the search engines.
But seriously, I really want a Free iPod so if anyone has one, please give it to me. I need it. Bad. Ohhh, and as for my contribution…here is a Free iPod picture. Feel free to print it or whatever, I don’t care….I stole it from Apple.com.
Bah… free thing only happen on p2p anymore. Besides, I like my Rio Karma over the i-pod. It doesn’t come with trendy white earbuds, but I think the organization, sound quality, and battery life are better. A new version is coming out soon, I hope they start offering them for “free” over the i-pod. That would make me feel good about myself… pshaw.
Ok, how is the battery life better? My iPod mini lasts about 6-7 hours on its battery. Does the Rio Karma do that? As for the organization, I have never used a Rio so I don’t know, but I will say that the iPod’s click wheel kicks ass! Also, the iPod has like 4 games, a calendar, a contact list and more! If you read the thread it was joke, there is a link to cut out cardboard ipods. It wasnt done to get high search engine rankings, that was just something that happened as a result of the thread.
Interesting. Yeah, I never read the thread. I do wonder how many sites do gain on search engine listings due to the fact that conversation was about a popular item. Or at the least, It could add to the overall page rank. But stil funny nonetheless, I wonder If I should start selling cardboard iPods.
This page will not gain much SEO benefit. You should at least have “Free Ipod” in your title tag and meta-description. You have nothing besides tag and a couple of text mentions..

Why are you using the same title-tag for all pages?
Yeah, good point lasse. Title tag is very important. I hear that content is the next best thing to gaining search engine preference. I have read that the meta description and meta keywords tags have been so abused in the past that search engines have put a low priority on those tags. As for the redundant title tag, thanks for pointing that out. I am just lazy.

The Karma battery lasts about 15 hours, has better navigation IMHO, supports OGG and FLAC formats, has true gapless playback with the option of crossfading, a better equalizer, comes with a docking cradle, it doesn’t prohibit you from copying music from your player onto another computer, and the Karma costs less. These are all legs up on the iPod. Unfortunately, Rio has discontinued the Karma, though you can pick one up for around $180 now. While I will say that the iPod has a plethora of custom accessories and an impressive following, I do not agree that a few gimicky games, a contact list and a calender are more reason to buy an iPod. My cell phone does those things. I wanted my MP3 player to be ideal for playing and managing music, which is what an mp3 player should be.
I know a friend who was convinced he would win a free i-pod. He never did :(

Not only have i seen the “Free Apple IPod” but there are other web offers such as “Free LapTop, Free Plasma TV’s, and so on” I even so an offer for free a trip to the Oprah show and the Ellen show. With futher invetigating and preserverence it comes down to this that there is absolutly nothing free on or around the internet. If you read the terms and conditions part of the advertisment it tells you that you have to sign up for 2 of the silver offers, any where from 3 to 6 of the gold offers and then 3 from the platnum offer. So if you do all that you could have gone down to your local electronic store and bought your item for less nad had it the same day.
