So, I have been farting around with logo design. My goal is to recreate my logo. I’m looking for something a little more smooth with more of a reptilian flare. I changed the old banner from the mountains to the scales for this very reason. A good pal of mine, Thurston told me that logos should be able to work well with text. Currently, my logo is seperate from the text. The text in itself is a sort of logo in itself. I’m hoping my new logo will look better paired with the text.
I am going to leave this up to public interpretation. Let me know what you guys think of this new logo. Let me know what you honestly think and if you have any good suggestions, let me know. I appreciate any advice that you have for me. Also, if you wanna mock something up, do it, do it.
In addition to the logo redesign, you’ll notice that there are two mini page looking icons in the mid left side of this site’s banner. For every page that you see, there is a different theme. I implemented this as a test for a CSS theme switcher that I wrote for the Whiteness and I have decided to leave it. For now, the left one restores the original theme, while the right one removes the stylesheet entirely. I have plans for a new test. Following the completion of my portfolio, I want to implement a version of a completely fluid layout with very very low CSS Image usage. This will be my “all browser friendly” and bandwidth friendly version of the site. It is getting increasingly easy to build a fixed width CSS site. Now is my chance to prove myself with an elastic layout.
On other subjects, I have just launched my most recent redesign for the good folks at Montana ahperd ( association for health, physical education, recreation and dance ). The site is XHTML compliant and completely CSS based. Also, the logo design as well as the site was rebuilt from the ground up. Lemme know what you guys think about this site ;)
