Heres a great passage from Proverbs of the Bible, chapter 6:

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry. Then the greedy - their reward is here and now. A good man's reward (depending on who they know) will receive their reward later. I'm betting it's even better than a new xbox 360 or Porche. Just a hunch.

Logie Logie Logie....i feel you man...I'm pretty sure that the lazy people and even the people on top see this as well... unfortunatley the lazy people i feel have a sort of resentment towards those who actually try to give a helping hand as well as those who chose to work harder and longer hours than others...I don't think it's so much that they think they are better than the "nice guys" but rathe jealous because deep down inside they want to be that hardworking person who does the good deeds and has a strong work ethic, but at the same time these jealous people are also the type that don't necessarily like to be told how to live and so they rebel against what other people think is the right or proper way to handle situations...As for the power hungry over achievers, they see the "nice guy" type as a weekness instead of a strength...They aren't concerned with the emotional satisfaction of helping others out...they are only concerned with materialistic things...not what other people can get out of their actions but only what they themselves can get from it (money, more power, etc...) As someone who likes to do what is right (not saying that I think I'm any better than the next person) i don't always make the right choices and can sometimes be lazy I also see both the wear and tear of not being appreciated for all the hard work that is accomplished along with the actual small gratitude and appreciation of those that have experienced the helping and hardworking hand of the "nice guy"...In this crazy world that's just how things are...It would be hard to really appreciate anything positive and beautiful in life if there wasn't something negative and ugly to compare it with...If from the beginning of man's existance everything was and has always been beautiful and wonderful without any kind of opposite we couldn't truly fully experience and appreciate life....Not everything can be right....it's philosophically wrong, so to speak....but in general Rogie, I feel ya...and yeah it sucks....but don't hate, appreciate...ha....alright dude, i'll see you later man....peace

Ahh Roge, I know what you mean buddy. I see this everyday in that evil corporate place I work. I look at people based on the Hartman Personality Test (aka the color code). According to his theory there are 4 types of people. Red (The power wielders), Blue (The Do-Gooders), White (The Peacekeepers), and Yellow (the Fun Lovers). Unfortunately most people in power seem to be the Red kind and it's really Blue (like myself...I like being around people like myself) who should be in charge. Hitler and Mussolini, Reds. Coincidence? I think not.
