So, I was looking for some new smilies to replace the defalt ones used on wordpress, when I had an idea. Why not make my own? Now, this seemed a daunting task, and after trying to design just one smily, I thought of something. I can design a really cool character.
Right, a character…
I remember when I was a kid, I was obsessed with creating the ultimate character. I remember thinking Sonic the Hedgehog was the ultimate character. He looked so cool and cute, yet so hardcore. I loved his spikes and menacing eyes. It was my goal to sketch up a character as cool as him. I think I had some pretty dang good trys at it, but most of them ended up looking like a derivative of some other character. Anyhow, I feel like we lose a lot of our childhood as we grow up. So, to dredge up the past I pose a contest. Not a contest for a prize, but a contest to see which one of you designers/wannabees can come up with the best character design.
The Character
I say we all take our best stab at it. Just one character per person. I can think of a couple of friends that are pretty decent at design, so at least they should be in. In addition, I know I have quite a few viewers that come by this article and plenty are of the design nature, so give it a stab!
Let’s do it
Alright, I’m off on designing my own sweet character. I’ll come back and post what I’ve got to let you see my progress. In the meantime, get to work on yours. I’d really like to see what people out there are capable of.

hmmmmmmmmm. Interestante. I suppose I’ll try. Hehehe, I’ve always wanted to turn the XURG logo into a little pigmy warrior or something :)
yeah man. I have always loved creating new cartoon type characters. I think right now is an especially bad time to get people to try. People are just a little too busy. Needless to say, I have worked on mine “just a little.”
