Whenever I redesign, I take inventory of all of the sites that I have ran across in the past couple of months that have “WOW”ed me. I ask myself, “why do I love these designs?.” I typically write down the strong elements from each design. From there, I try to incorporate each strong element in my redesign…er…realign.

So, I have been on the prowl of the interwebs and writing down sites that wow me. However, I know that you, as an interweb browser probably have seen some sweet sites. So, I have a question for you. Yes you, the person that is currently reading this post.

What site wows you? Why? Do you like it better than this site? What is better?

I’d love to hear from you. You never know. You may be a key part of the evolution of Komodo Media. As for my list, here are the recent sites that I am stunned with:

Veerle’s Blog Why not? I am very jealous, but props gotta go where props go.
Dan Rubin’s Superfluous Banter Maybe I like this cuz it looks like mine a wee bit. I do like the attention to detail and bold colors.
Jonathan Snook Clean. Nice redesign. I’m kinda sick of green/grey, but this one works. I only wish he would design his content a little more.
Cuban Council I flippin’ love this site. Great attention to detail. The JavaScript and Flash is the perfect amount. Killer.
KINEDA As everyone else does, I love it. Rad colors. Rad site. Plenty of content.
Mint Shaun Inman is a stud. His JavaScript skeelz are l33t. His design is even more elite.

A little bit self-promo, I love my website. I loved joshuaink.com until redesign, now it… sux :(. And I also love http://www.brokenkode.com and http://www.bballcity.com (all that AJAX stuff or what the hell it is).

@zimmi: word. Joshuaink sold his design and now it looks ridiculous. I’m sure its a temporary situation before he knocks out some stunning piece of work.

Rogie: Who did he sell it to?

Sorry for this kind of spam, but I wonder how you made option to subsribe for comments? Is it home-made or some kind of web service?

@zimmi: It’s a plugin for WordPress. Check out:

Also, maybe he didn’t sell it, but its up for grabs:

That’s a pity, i am using my “home-made” “CMS” (it is almost unusable and needless, but you know… it is mine :o).
By the way don’t you know any server providing such a good thing like comments-subscription is?

I find allot of neat sites, and pretty much do the same thing when looking for inspiration. Here are a few things that got my thinker, ah.. thinking.

I dunno why, but I like this site. Maybe its just “simple” yet cool.

Same thing here. Clean, effective and fast.

Not real big on flash sites, but if your going to do it… do it like this.
Besides the look is nice too ;-)

And as always theres allot of “2.0″ crap here

@zimmi, unfortunately I took out all that ajax stuff on my current design, but I go through designs every couple of weeks :)

I love your site Rogie, it’s gorgeous. I’m also quite proud of http://www.sleepingmonkey.co.uk though it’s not on your level at all.

When I first started web designing, I did about 50 redesigns, it took me ages to settle on 1 design and even then wasn’t completely happy with it. There are a couple of media studios that I draw on for inspiration – http://www.firstbornmultimedia.com, fantasy-interactive.com and rga.com
