A project of part toil, part slavery, part love and part pure maniac, Komodo Media’s version 4 installment, code name “Expedition” aka “code commando” is alive and breathing.
I’ll post more on what I learned in the designing process as well as releasing some freebies, so stay tuned. As for now, I’m a tired boy and I’m gonna take a rest. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

One word: Amazing!
That doesn’t quite convey my absolute love for this new design but, I’m sort of speechless at the moment. I’m still just taking it all in. Again, amazing! :D
respect! that’s just great! perfect!
The expedition is awesome!
The only problem is: now I feel like traveling a far and exotic place..
Keep up the good work!
Its about time you made it live
I’m glad you’ve finished. I’ve said it over and over, this is fantastic. Good work Tingo!
Holy Survivor, Batman! ;)
The site is the hotness! We may have a little word press work for you in the next couple months.
We’ve been playing with it ourselves lately.
; )
Excellent job, Rogie! Like James, I too can’t get over how awesome this site looks. Your illustrations and copy editing are brilliant to say the least.
Oh and the toucan rocks!
Boosh
@James – Thanks! I sorta dig it too.
@mathias – thanks dude.
@Sarah – That’s exactly what I was trying to convey. Apparently I did it. All I need to illustrate is a hammock and a margarita ;)
@Michael – thanks for harassing me to get it done :)
@ed – Thanks hetero life mate!
@John – Dude. Love survivor. Love it.
@Curtis – sounds good dude. word.
@Larry – thanks for all the great advice.
@Luke – What. Teh. Heck.
Nicely done indeed! A fresh design, that brings back memories from my travels in South and Central America. (BTW I saw some fabulous Toucans in Costa Rica.)
I would, however, like to see the sub-navigation used for the comments repeated at the bottom of the page.
At the moment, I have to scroll up in order to navigate to another page of comments.
Not a huuuuge deal, I admit. But being a picky and over-zealous Art Director is in my blood… ;-)
All the hard work (and I’m sure there was loads of it) paid off and the “expedition” is bound to be a success.
You’ve certainly come a long way since v.1 :-D
Wonderful!
I give it 5 stars!
Remember to but a sixth star on the next redesign ;)
I am glad to see it live, I am honestly very impressed and really bro, it gives me inspiration to do a lots-o-design stuff. Really, it is freaking awesome!
This is an amazing redesign! The amount of detail put into this is great and everything just works. This is definitely inspirational to me, and many others out there. Very well done. 5 stars! :)
@Marc – I’m glad it reminds you of trips to South and Central America. Thats kinda the idea of this theme. I also, very obviously so, love anything jungle-esque (word?)
@Henrik – LOL. But, then we’ll need a 7th. The madness will just keep on. I have to stop somewhere, yknow?
@Sean Courtney – Thanks for believing in me.
@Lasha – I am really glad that you noticed the attention to detail. I really put a lot of work into it and much of the work may not be noticed if not combed over by a fine tooth comb. Thanks!
[...] today. Come one, come all and let the download fest begin! These mushrooms were intended for the version 4 release of this site, but I decided to bag them making an appearance at the last minute. They are inspired by the Mario [...]

garra hand it to u pal u rock.
Love the wood effect and tropical theme. Not to sure about the mountains at the top. Are they supposed to be volcanoes? Overall, great work!
@all – Thanks! Your kind words are so inspiring.
@Dy – Komodomedia is inspired by the komodo dragon from indonesia. It all stems from my love for reptiles as a child (I currently own a rosy boa named diego ;) ). Where are you from in indonesia? What’s it like?
@ShopDev – Thanks and yes they are volcanoes! Inspired by the hawaiian islands of course :)
Rogie, this is absolutely stunning. I’ve stumbled across it through Best Web Gallery and have spent the last 20 minutes trawling through your site and I love it. The attention to detail is superb, the brilliantly designed little icons which seem to be different everywhere make me want to explore every single page over and over again.
Congratulations, it’s truly beautiful.
@Matt Dempsey – I really like your site and work as well. Thanks so much. Your kind words validate that the amount of sleepless nights, caffeine-driven design do-overs, and self critiques were worth it!
it’s an absolutely beautiful site you have here :) Well coded too, and overall fantastic. Nice work!
Rebecca
