No, it’s not about the Natalie Imbruglia song. Not even close. I’m torn on the direction of the next few posts I should write for this blog. I’ve went back and forth in my mind between different ideas and I have quite a few, but really what I write is for my readers. Yes, I get personal fulfillment out of it, but really it’s for you. So, why not ask you?
I’m gonna be straight-forward with the different directions that I have in mind. Please tell me what is of most interest to you. What would help you the most? What would keep your interest the most?
Video Blogging
I’ve thought alot of taking video. From video of my child, activities to whatever I can think of at the moment, I would log it. Typically, it would be something I find funny, but honestly, who knows where it would go.
Screencasts
I’m gonna grab a copy of Screenflow and start doing screen casts at some point. My main focus doing screen casts will be to focus on Adobe Fireworks techniques, CSS and JavaScript. Considering, I’ve never created screen casts, nor have I wrote or published a blog entry on Fireworks either, so this will be new territory for me.
The Nerdlab
The Nerdlab is a category that I’ve started up recently that I plan on contributing more to in the near future. I will continue to build more jQuery plugins, CSS, and PHP snippets for use. Collin Allen (command-tab.com) and I plan on contributing to this column together to see what sort of web craziness we can come up with. This is something I always plan on contributing to, but if the interest is higher, I may contribute to this more often.
By Suggestion
I’ve toyed with the notion of taking suggestions for entries, picking the top one and blogging on that. If the need is there, I’d go for this. I have had quite a few people ask how I made my “foliage-o-meter” or different elements on my website, so these sorts of things may happen if there is enough interests.
By Dare
You never know. I may do it. ;)
On Faith
As many of you know, I am a Christian and I don’t hide it, nor do I push it on people. This blog is primarily a tech blog with random bits thrown in, but if interest is there, I don’t mind sharing more…
You Decide
I’d love to hear what you have to say. Please leave your response as a comment or vote for it at Friend Feedback as it will likely shape the decisions made on this blog.

I might go through each category and give my thoughts:
* Video Blogging – I’m not too into video blogging, generally the sound & video quality isn’t great, besides, I tend to only like videos if they’re tutorials.
* Screencasts – Sounds cool I guess, not exactly sure what entails but I’m sure it’d be cool.
* The Nerdlab – Wunderbar! <3 the Nerdlab (more below).
* By Suggestion – Also another great idea, anything web dev geekyness makes me happy :)
* By Dare – Okay, I dare you to eat lots of chilli and garlic in a very short amount of time. I tried the garlic one…. let’s just say it was a REALLY bad idea.
* By Faith – I’m not one for religion and that’s all I’ll say.
Personally I think the coolest ideas would be “The Nerdlab” and “By Suggestion”. I’d love to see more code snippets, jQuery especially – who doesn’t like jQuery?! I think you and Collin from command-tab teaming up together to write funky scripts sounds great! Can’t wait to see what you guys concoct.
An entry running through “foliage-o-meter” and the zoombox plugin, I think, would be great to see. Sure, we can all put it in our sites, but I know from personal experience, I can’t exactly sit down and explain to myself what it all does. Yes, I know the end result is something awesome, but the in-between, I for one, struggle with it.
Okay, this is turning out like a blog post, not a comment! Hope you find my wall of text useful.
A screencast on Fireworks CS4 would be great as I have been using Photoshop instead since the first CS came out due to better font rendering etc.
As Abobe is now in control of the Macromedia products it seems like a more viable solution to the whole design/css workflow.
Nerdlab sounds good. I enjoy screencasts, too. The others I could live without…but hey, it’s your space!
Nice.
Video Blogging – eh, it’s kind of annoying in most cases; maybe more interesting for family and friends to view; could work if it’s really different and/or really good–not even sure what that would be.
Screencasts – sure. these are often good and instructive.
The Nerdlab – very much. more stuff like the foliage slider: different, clever, snazzy, etc.
By Suggestion – sure sure.
By Dare – careful with that.
On Faith – i like to see this. especially if it’s a part of other topics–adds some depth.
Very nice site. Good question.
I’d love to see some screencasts, especially on Javascript. Nerdlab is something I would really want. As long as the content has high quality!
Looking forward to this!
I like the Nerdlab idea. Less so the On Faith idea, but it won’t make me unsubscribe.
I’d say Vblogging and Faith! Not necessarily in that order. ;-)
“The Nerdlab”, absolutly! Would be very fun to se what kind of things you could throw together.
