The kind folks over at WP WebHost have invited me to participate in the “Wordpress Coolest Blog Competition.” [link to competition and prizes] Prizes range from $500-$125 cash to free themes from Zidalgo to a WooThemes subscription to a lifetime Wordpress Hosting sponsorship!. Cool competition methinks.
So why would I want all this stuff? Am I just a money-grubber looking for handouts from all my readers? I hope you are thinking no. If I win, I’m givin’ it all away . After all, this competition is about the coolest blog and cool blogs give stuff away. Straight up.
So, here’s the deal. Leave a comment here and you will be entered into a random drawing. If I am chosen for the coolest blog, two things will happen:
- All cash winnings get given to a charity.
- All non-cash prizes are given to a person who comments on this blog entry by random drawing.
That’s it! All you have to do is comment! I suggest leaving a memorable comment, such as a favorite memory, or the best scene or quote from your favorite movie. Why not?
UPDATE: Komodo Media has been chosen as a part of the top 20 and is now in the voting phase.

Well, I don’t really know what I should say, so let’s just say it with lyrics :)
the road of life is rocky and you may stumble too,
So while you point your fingers someone else is judging you.
Um, “Comment.”
(I’m nothing if not literal.)
I guess doing it the other way around is not really that cool:
- All cash winnings get given to a person who comments on this blog entry by random drawing.
- All non-cash prizes are given to a charity.
Specially since most charities won’t know what to do with a WP theme but they could re-sell the lifetime WP hosting sponsorship.
A cool competition Rogie, hope you win!
P.S: Oh and also – I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky (a memorable quote).
Well, your chances of winning the lottery greatly improve by buying a ticket… so consider this my entry for the giveaway ;)
Rogie, your blog kicks serious arse :) If you don’t win, it’d be a shame.
Your BOE (bar of entry) is TL (too low). You should have asked us a important question, hopefully something related to huntin’-n-killin’.
@Maximillian – LOL. Yeah, hey – I know your kids are hungry and in need of basic clothing, but here is a free lifetime Wordpress hosting sponsorship! Hope you can use it!
“Big gulps huh?, Well!, Seeya Later!” – Another very memorable quote
recent memorable quote: “Testing Qwitter: I SO LOVE CYNDI LAUPER RIGHT NOW. She really speaks to my heart” ^^
a Haiku:
Rogie’s a good dude
He’s giving away free stuff
Many kudos, man
Sorry, that’s lame. :)
A memorable comment…damn…mh im from austria sorry, we’re only good at skiing and yodeling :)
Well, lots of cool blogs out there in the blogosphere…
Good luck there!
I’m attracted to not just your blog.
Okay I need someone to respond to this comment. Seriously!
Can’t think of a clever memorable comment, however I follow your blog and love the design, especially the foliage-o-meter.
You’re design is great so you have a fair chance at winning.
I guess my question is if this is a theme contest, why would they give you a new theme as a prize? Hey! You win! Yours is good but ours are better!
Maybe not.
Okay – here’s something that I’ve always wanted to talk about:
Let’s say an alien lands on Earth and begin preaching it’s religion to us. The alien talks about how the all powerful deity “Heway” created a clone of itself and set that clone to live amongst the setilearsi. The clone, “Sesuj,” taught the setilearsi about when to “turn the other ‘keehc’” – whatever that is. And something about only attacking nissers when you don’t have any nis.
The alien is subsequently attacked by an angry mob and killed for being an agent of Satan.
My point is: would we be able to recognize the Teachings of the Gospel if they were presented to us through a different cultural lens? Looking at it from a Historical perspective, it seems VERY clear to me that not only would we not recognize the teachings of the Father, we would kill the messenger as an agent of the Enemy.
Best of luck, this design is EXTREMELY creative as well as great blog posts and articles.
That is great that the money is being given away to charity.
@Jamie Hill – I agree I love the foilage-o-meter.
Best of luck.
@MPain – Good point and thanks. I think coolest blog may not imply coolest design. So, throwing a new design at an ugly, yet cool blog is a good idea.
@chuck – way to put it all out there man. very vulnerable.
@Chris Harrison – Dude, thanks so much. Arse kicking is fun!
@Josh – I’m scared.
@Jamie – Nice to see people love the foliage-o-meter (which I think, happens to be the coolest named thing evar)
@Tor Løvskogen – Mmmmm meat <3
Rogie, Rogie he’s our man. If he can’t do it…….maybe we get Collin or somebody else or just anybody.
Your the man Rogie!!!
“If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal.”
- John Lennon
I miss understood the rule set; let me atone for my transgressions and supply these memorable comments:
“I’ve come to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I’m all out of bubble gum.” Nada, 1988
“For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.” M. Bison, 1994
Why is this blog cool?
Its cool because its creator, Rogie, is not only cool, but a great guy with a generous heart.
If you know Rogie, you know he is not one to mince words, but likewise he would never set out to hurt someone with his views or opinions. I think this makes his postings aspirational and always deeply interesting.
Good luck, I hope you win lots to give away to charity.
Sir Rog-a-lot, I am now posting on your amazing blog, so that I may win many items and a charity may be blessed. Thanks in advance for the loot.
Awesome post! Good Competition!
my favorite quote by my favorite actor in my favorite movie…
“I don’t know if we each have a destiny, or if we’re all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it’s both. Maybe both is happening at the same time. I miss you, Jenny. If there’s anything you need, I won’t be far away.”
Forrest Gump :)
Wow, Rogie, this is pretty much unheard of. Good luck!
yeah, you win.
1 in 27. I like my odds.
Five hundred? Why that must be a Peach of a hand.
i just wanted to say that you can always talk to me about star wars…
and this is one of my favorite quotes:
“whatever you do, don’t clone this site. i’ll have to hack your site.”
;)
@Michael – I’m taking a stab here…”Moosen…in the woodsen!, Bryan, what is the plural for box? BOXEN!”
Best of luck to you Rogie!
Rogie is cool for seeing all @replies on Twitter. That’s how people were meant to roll.
Very cool Rogie. You make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Hairballs also make me feel fuzzy inside. Hmmm.
Here is what I have to say…Jackamo! Na just kidding. This is very generous of you Rogie. You are a truly generous person. I hope you win and then I win. Sorry, I guess that is not so generous that I want to win.
biiiiiiiiiiiiiiithey!
Rogie – best of luck.
And everyone else – check out “Fringe” on Fox TV (on Tuesdays). It is the best new show of the season. Go sci-fi.
Good luck Rogie! If I had a car I would run over foliage to sacrifice it in your honor. That makes no sense, but what the hell?! D:
It’s the first thing that came to my head. >_>
<_<…
I hope you win, and if my comment gets randomly drawn, I am going to give my winnings away randomly to the comment above or below me. Because thats what cool people that read cool blogs do!
@Suzanne – Dang! I was recording that and decided to nix it. Frak!
@Bryan Veloso – Thanks for the comment, I know you’re a busy fella. In a strange sort of sense, your comment makes perfect sense ;)
Oh, and by the way, sweet emotes. Check this one out:
