It’s a quick one, but a good one. In this tutorial, I discuss how i use masks and gradient masks in Adobe Fireworks CS4.

Dude, Great TUT man! Got some great tips to help me out. You’re the man Rogie!
Another helpful tutorial man.
Any chance you can do a couple that are geared more to photoshop users get to know the app better? Things that appear to work differently in each app like layers, vectors, how bitmaps are handled, etc. Just an idea, either way keep putting them out :)
Awesome, thanks for that tutorial about masks! Maybe I will dig out my Fw CS3 again and do some graphics with that (if that has the same abilities).
Matthias, CS3 is pretty durn close, so whip that sukka out and get to it!
Awesome! I was playing around with masks after your last tutorial, and got a little confused with some aspects of them. Thats cleared up the bit’s I wasn’t sure about, thanks!

Great job dude. I’m really going to be hitting Fireworks hard come June 01, so I need all the brushing up I can get.
Fantastic… I really just have to get into Fireworks, don’t I? :)
Awesome techniques! I used to use Fireworks when it was a Macromedia product back in the day. But for some reason I switched to Photoshop. Your tutorials have me remembering a lot of things I really liked about Fireworks that I had to unlearn when switching to Photoshop. Perhaps it’s time to switch back! BTW, if you feel so inclined I’d love to hear your thoughts regarding a comparison between the two.
Nice and simple, thanks. After 11 years of work with Photoshop im trying to move to Fireworks. What im struggling a bit tough is about masking, specifically when trying to put multiple objects under the same mask (mask folder on Photoshop) and using multiple gradients on mask, which Ps also facilitates with mask painting with the gradient tool.
Can you give some suggestions on these?
