Somebody (actually Patrick Schneider ) asked for it, so here it is. In my previous live design session screencast, I showed an icon with a brushed metal texture. People have been asking how, so, here’s how:

That brushed metal effect is really easy, wow! Sadly that screencast wasn’t in HD so the effects are a bit difficult to recognize.
