The time has come to VOTE Komodo Media for the coolest blog competition. What happens if I win? I’m givin’ it all away. You heard me right – I don’t get a penny. All non-cash prizes will get given away in a drawing and cash will be given to a charity once the winner is announced by WP Web Host someday following December 1st, 2008.

So what can you do? Vote for Komodo Media! Oh, and if you are thinking that this is waaayyyy to much to sacrifice, keep in mind I have been working on a WordPress plugin to give away for free. So there.

Update: As of this writing, I’m getting spanked.

Update 10/20/08: I’ve got a ton of great and supportive votes. Thank you! I just got one from the man himself, Jonathan Snook as well as Dave Morin of Facebook and Apple (Originally from Helena,MT!) Still behind by 50 votes, but I have confidence!.

Update 10/20/08: Mad props go out to Graham Smith and Calvin Lee who are helping to spread the word!

Update 10/21/08: A big thanks go out to Maximilian Schöning and Chris Harrison who have tried to get the word out. Thanks boys.

Update 10/22/08: One of the most generous offerings, Chad Engle wrote a post on his blog to try to get the word out and get votes for Komodo Media. Thanks Chad!

Update 10/25/08: Two more people posted to try to get me higher up in the ranks. I didn’t ask them, but they took their time to do it and I want to say thank you so much to them!

Graham Smith of We Are Just Creative wrote a lengthy and very heartfelt post. I’m totally stunned by how kind his words were and the amount of time that he took to promote Komodo Media. Thanks Graham!

Chris Mattix from Helena, MT (I live here!) wrote a post that promoted Komodo Media as well to get “some love” for me. Chris…you rock. Thanks.

I’m not going to categorize these people at all. They aren’t necessarily designers, programmers, zookeepers, athletes, etc. They are fun people that make being on twitter fun for me. They converse, respond and at times initiate conversation with me. Without them, twitter wouldn’t be worthwhile. It seems to me that they are also good people and don’t have issues with talking to anyone, so follow them and they may follow you. Happy twittering!

Please, feel free to comment with your favorite twitter friends as well.

This last Independence Day was just a little different than my previous. Usually, I goto my brother’s house and hang out, watch his amazing fireworks display, talk with family and sing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the top of my lungs.

This time, we decided to go to the Choteau Rodeo. It was purty dang fun, but basically what you’d expect from a rodeo. That is, until a coupla thangs happened. One, not the highlight, but still cool was that Dave Letterman showed up. Check him out. He doesn’t exactly look like he does on TV, but give the guy a break…its freedom day after all:

The second, and most exciting moment at the rodeo happened when me and a few of my friends decided to participate in the Wild Cow Milking contest. We went up against some big cowboys sportin’ everything from gloves to boots to a fat lip full o’ chew to butt-suckin’ wrangler jeans. Now, before you start thinking im some Montana cowboy or my friends are, let me paint you a picture. My team consisted of:

Myself, Rogie, the guy in the backwards black hat: Video game nerd/Web programmer/designer that loves Red Bull, Techno, a good Role-Playing game and Disneyland

George, the guy in the button-up shirt that gets bucked into the rail at the end: A former country boy gone accountant that loves to joke about burpin’ n fartin’

Karson, The kid in the yellow shirt: Pastor’s kid/Pretty boy/Prep just graduated from high school that likes weak bands like Coldplay

Josh, the kid in the purple shirt: Baptist Bible College student who is hooked by a chick named Kendall that he can’t live without talking to every night

Keep in mind my team was wearing shorts, no gloves, baseball hats, etc. We were NOT country. In addition, I’m lucky I borrowed a pair of New Balance running shoes from my Pastor’s son, 12 year old Kolter. Otherwise, I’d be sportin’ sandals for this venture. Enough saucing you up, here’s the video:

Wild Cow Milkin’, July 4th ‘06 from Rogie on Vimeo.

I gotta say people, I have not had an adrenaline rush like this in a loooooong time.
