It’s been about a year coming. I’m glad to finally announce that my personal goods marketplace, Fine Goods Market, is here! Not only is is sporting icons, overlays and scripts, but to make Fine Goods a thing truly special, it’s sporting some goods to wear — that’s right, it’s sporting premium tee shirts. Be expecting many more icon sets and digital resources to come! Also, pick up the new Basic Social Media free icons here.

I’m sure I’ll have more to share about the process of making Fine Goods, but the proof should be in the pudding, as the store has a few schnazzy design tricks up it’s sleeves, including CSS3 animations, custom scrollbars and more!

Last week, I made and released View.js — a simple, lightweight, jQuery photo viewer for the web. View was created as an answer to all of those massive, bloated lightbox plugins with a load of buttons and styles. I wanted View to be simple, almost zero images and buttons and be customizable not through JavaScript, but through CSS. Thus, View was born.

Head on over to the View website and click on the thumbnails to give it a whirl. If you like it, snatch it up. It’s only ten bucks.

Sean Gaffney is a newskool HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript/jQuery front end guru. Was that a mouthful? You may not have heard of him yet, but he’s been some of the muscle and brains behind the new Pattern Tap, Blue Sky Resumes as well as Barley’s Greenville. He’s also presented at conferences on jQuery and front end development.

When Sean was growing up, his Dad used to tinker around with radios. He get’s all misty thinking about it and he loves that minimal old world transistor diagram/radiophile vibe. He wanted to tie in his nostalgia for such a style into his new website. One of Sean’s goals as he makes his foray into the world of blogging is to pour out his skills to help the people that helped him learn so much.

It’s been awesome working with Sean and while this project spanned out many moons, we were able to achieve something that he could truly love…and that’s exactly what I wanted to design for him — Something he loved and cherished.

Matthias Dietrich is a PHP and Perl social media and web application architect. As a German, soon to be international brand — he wanted a sexy (my words) logo/icon to evolve his brand and propel his business, Rainboxx further. He loved my style and I loved making this for him.

Don’t let the smattering of German text fool you, he’s rapidly becoming bi-lingual and his site will be available in english soon as well as getting a new coat of paint.

It’s been a blast working with Matt and very fun learning a bit of German as I worked with him. I was stoked about his willingness to let me post work in progress on Dribbble as well as create screencasts as I designed. I wish him all the best in business as he moves forward.

Komodo Media teamed up with Sarphi to bring some design savvy to The Nixon Foundation.

For those of us using a Mac, Growl should essentially be shipped with the system. For years it’s worked wonders as being a perfect central notification system for any and all system events. From new emails to a Skype message to an upload-just-finished status notification, Growl is a great way to keep me updated.

As great as Growl is, I wanted a new theme. Since Growl themes are webkit and CSS2/3 based, I figured what the heck, I’ll make one of my own. Best news is I’m making it publicly available for you too!

It’s been over a month now that I’ve been full-time self employed and things are going well! I’ve designed a theme for WooThemes as a collaborative designer called “Unite”, but hush hush on that for now ;)

The second project I’ve worked on and recently completed is a website for Skin Esthetician, Heather Heida called Skin Essentials. Heather wanted a very antique, Victorian feeling website that felt warm with uses of green and that antique wallpaper look.
