It was a few years ago at a good friend, Collin’s wedding in Helena, Montana. After the rehearsal, we went up to his parents house for conversation, wine and DIP! Thats right, dip. His mother brought out this delectable onion dip that I kept raving about and vigorously tearing into, like a hyena ripping into the flesh of his near-dead zebra prize. This dip is awesome I thought.

His mother, being a wise woman indeed, gave me the recipe and since at many family gatherings and holidays, I’ll make this dip. And it is awesome. For reals.

At this monumentous day, I present you with the recipe for your families:

Ingredients

1 cup sweet Vidalia (or Mayan) onion

1 cup real mayonaise

1 cup swiss cheese

Just use equal parts of each for larger groups

Preperation

Mince the onion and shred the swiss cheese. Put into a bowl and mix until blended thoroughly. Put all of this into a Pyrex (or similar) dish and bake at 350° until golden brown on top.

Serving

Let cool for at least 10 minutes and serve with any cracker that you like (I like Ritz).

PS. Add a clove of minced garlic if you want to totally OWN everyone.
